Me, my friend Armand and my dad – attended the Eid Dinner Gala Muslim event, co-organised by the European Muslim Forum, which was held at the London Marriott Hotel at Grosvenor Square.
Guest speakers included famous politicians, such as Jeremy Corbyn – and this was, in fact, right in the build-up to the elections, when he was running for Prime Minister against Boris Johnson. Ultimately, Corbyn lost, but he did get a large Muslim vote. Perhaps due to his social activities such as giving a long, warm speech at this event we attended! Corbyn even sat next to my dad at the dinner table!

Armand and I were pleasantly surprised by the random, yet funny and memorable encounters we had with many great men that sat at our table. We didn’t know any of them, but were introduced – throughout the evening – to various guys of Kazakh, Uzbek, Russian, Chechen and Dagestani nationality. It was a great pleasure to get to know them and talk to them. The highlight of the night was a funny Kazakh bald man sitting in front of us who slept through the entire event, yet his shiny head kept mirroring the light.
Guest speakers included two funny comedians, clips of their performances are linked below –
